BPClaims.org gets BP Settlement Offer in Less then 5 Days
This is the fastest we have ever had a claim go through the BP Settlement, or heard of one going through.
We are very happy for our Claimant, and pleased that our process is running on all cylinders.
We hope that this is an indicator of things to come from the DeepWater Horizon Settlement, as they begin to ramp up their BP Claims processing capabilities.
Since the Judge has approved the economic settlement, it has come to our attention that the Leadership of the BP Settlement will now be able to staff up, and that should result in your BP Claims going through the process faster, stay tuned.
If you have a VOO Claim and want to get paid quickly, please feel free to call us at 1-800-BP-CLAIM, or fill out the form to the right.
The BP Settlement Matures
With Judge Barbier`s final approval of the BP Settlement, combined with finally seeing a sample set of all types of claims get paid or receive offers, we more fully understand how different types of claims, in different zones will be treated.
Should we have had this understanding before the opt out date, sure, but we have to play the cards we have been dealt.
On the bright side our processing side can tell you if you have a claim, as long as you have the financials to support it, in hours, and not days.
The maturation of the DeepWater Horizon Settlement has accelerated our ability to process claims, and help people better understand if indeed they fit into the BP Settlement.
DeepWater Horizon Settlement Incomplete Claims
What many people and businesses are experiencing are Incomplete Notices, for many, these come one, after another, after another, after another, you get the idea.
It would be beneficial if the leadership at the DeepWater Horizon Settlement could facilitate it so that ONE CHECKLIST of everything that the Claimant or Claims Preparer needed to complete the Claim was furnished to them.
This would end a lot of frustration on everybody`s part. If you are experiencing Incomplete Claims Notices and are at then end of your rope, we will be happy to assist you, we can handle most of them for as little as 10% of the eventual recovery.
Settlement Zones and NAICS Codes
There are still some issues with Settlement Zones and NAICS codes, what is considered tourism, what is not tourism.
We are also seeing a large number of claims that are clearly in HIGH Volume Tourism Destination areas that don`t fit under the Tourism NAICS codes get labeled non-tourism.
There are cures for that, but as usual you have to jump through a few more hoops, and dot your i`s and cross your t`s.
The multiplier for a non tourism related business vs. tourism related business makes it worthwhile.
BP Business Claims
Many businesses that are applying for the BP Settlement are eager to know if they have the correct financials in order to have success under the terms of the Settlement. If you own a business, and are looking for answers surrounding your claim, or possible claim, don`t hesitate to call us, and our in house experts will be happy to assist you. We have forensic accountants, and other BP Claims Professionals that will be happy to help you, we are not attorneys.
Individual Claims in the BP Settlement
Individual claims in the BP Settlement are still running into all kinds of road blocks with in it`s framework, these people need to be handled in a more expedient manner. We deal with lots of individuals and understand there frustrations, some are better handled by attorneys for various reasons, and some we can assist, either way this has been a bone of contention for many of you. Many of the people that are on our facebook site have run into these same obsatcles, if you need help, please feel free to contact us, if you would like to talk to a group of people that have faced similar challenges check out our Facebook Page at BPClaims.org Facebook
Old GCCF Claims
When the GCCF Closed it`s doors they had almost 1 Million Claims that they were processing, what happened to all of these claims, well for the most part, people and businesses did not update them for the BP Settlement.
The last update that I read from the DeepWater Horizon Settlement, they had approximately 91,000 people and business that had filed with the Settlement.
Within the Judges order he said they anticipated over 1 Million claims to apply for restitution.
If you have a claim, that was with the GCCF it is time to get back on it, and update for the BP Settlement. If you are wondering if you have a claim that qualifies fill out the form or call us at 1-800-BP-CLAIM.
BP VOO CLAIMS
We have had BP appeal various VOO Claims for a variety of reasons, usually people had lost there Master Vessel Charter Agreement, or other needed documents. We have developed several workarounds for these issues. We have gotten VOO Claims through the process in as little a 2 weeks.
The BPClaims.org Network
We have the largest network of BP Settlement Professionals from Key West to Houston. Traditionally we charge just 15% for assisting you with your claim, we don`t get paid until you do. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we provide our clients. You will always receive a call back from our Claims Advisors…we look forward to speaking with you!
If there is one thing that separates us from other Claims Groups and firms, it is our Accessibility. Many of our clients don`t just reach our staff at the office, but often have their personal cell phone numbers, we pride ourselves on being here for the client, and getting the job done.
We will Help You with Your BP Settlement.
Judge Barbier Approves the BP Settlement
If you follow the doomsday theorists, 12/21/12 was suppose to be the end of the world, well, not really, it was the first day of the official BP Settlement. Any connection, probably not, but Judge Barbier did lay a compelling and substantive case as to why The DeepWater Horizon Settlement should move forward. You can read it for yourself here.
There are issues with the settlement, but the fact of the matter is we all just want to see people and businesses get paid, and this is what we have to work with. There was a lot of interesting information in the 125 page document. Most compelling was the Judges rebuttals of the numerous objections raised. The Judge provided his thoughts in great detail as to why he thought certain objections did not have merit, or were basically outweighed for numerous reasons, citing a variety of case law.
I still believe there are issues with the Customer Mix Test and NAICS codes, but much of that can be handled with an Appeal, and we will all see how those Appeals are handled. If David Duval who heads up the BP Settlements Appeals division can get adequate compensation for the BP Settlement Claims that deserve it, and if he is given some latitude in correcting NAICS codes and other assorted anomalies, then I think the BP Settlement is a strong substitute for litigation. We will see how this aspect of the process unfolds, and how much leeway he and his Team are given. There is a lot riding on this aspect of the DeepWater Horizon Settlement Structure.
Seafood Compensation Program (You have 30 Days)
Under the terms of the BP Settlement, people that are taking part of the Seafood Compensation Program only have 30 Days after the Judges approval to present their claim to the DeepWater Horizon Settlement Fund for Approval. That means the clock is ticking and if you haven`t filed yet, you need to.
BP Settlement Numbers
91,000 people had so far filed with DeepWater Horizon Settlement Fund. They expect that number to hit over 1,000,000, hopefully many more will come to the table now that the Judge has formally approved the BP Settlement.
Excluded Claims Have Until January 19th to be Presented to OPA
If you were excluded from the BP Settlement you must have your claim filed by January 19th. That means you need to act now, to protect your Rights. We have people that can Help You.
These types of businesses and their employees that are for the most part Excluded from the Settlement.
- Most Casino Type Institutions;
- Most Fund, Trust, and Banking Entities;
- Most Defense Contractors;
- Most Oil & Gas Industry Entities;
- Most Insurance Companies;
- Bodily Injury Claims;
- BP Shareholder Suits;
- Moratorium Loss Claims;
- Claims relating to Menhaden (or “pogy”) fishing, selling, processing, and harvesting;
Claims for Damages by Companies or Individuals for employment in the Financial, Insurance, Banking, Gaming, Oil & Gas, Defense Contractor industries, and Real Estate Development, as well as Entities selling or BP-branded fuel.
GCCF Denials and Stalled Claims
If you had filed with the GCCF and been denied or been stalled, there is still hope for your claim under the BP Settlement. For all of its flaws, and it still has a few, in this writers opinion it is a whole lot better then what the GCCF was under Mr. Feinberg. It is transparent, it has a clear methodology, and it is not arbitrary. The folks that run the DeepWater Horizon Settlement want to pay you, and many claims that were shunned by the GCCF are welcomed under the terms of the BP Settlement.
Multiple Store Locations
We have seen a tremendous growth in Companies with multiple stores, in multiple locations, making BP Settlement Claims with us as of late. These claims have a different parameters to meet, as they are often located in a number of different Settlement Zones, often with a Headquarters that is not located in any of the Settlement Zones. We have seen an influx of Real Estate Companies, Restaurants, and assorted other Franchises ask us for assistance, we have a separate Division specializing in assisting these entities.
We have had great success in getting VOO Claims through the system. We have even gotten them through after BP has appealed them. We have heard that BP is appealing them at a more frequent rate, and we can help you, we have gotten some through in as little as 2 weeks.
What will we See Next
Now this part is pure conjecture mixed with some facts, I am not an Attorney, but we are pretty involved in all of this, and I think we have a good read, and some inside track to what will happen next.
- The DeepWater Horizon Settlement Fund will pick up speed processing claims.
- More Staff will be hired to necessitate the above.
- More Individuals will begin to see their claims get Paid.
- More Claimants will come to the Table.
- Some Latitude will be given to the Appeals Division for NAICS code issues
The BPClaims.org Network
I am so proud of all of the people that make up our Internal Staff, I have never met a group of people that really put the Claimants welfare at such a high paramount. It is all working as intended, and this could not be done without your continued vigilance on the claimants behalf, and the compassion that you all have displayed over the last couple of years. As we have begun to add more staff, and create different Divisions, I am sure this trend will continue.
Partners within the Network have all displayed similar characteristics, and have been working 7 days a week to meet the Claimants needs.
We process your BP Settlement Claims for as little as 15% without using Attorneys, and slightly more if they are needed.
BPClaims.org Team (1) BP (0)
Recently, we got an Appeal from BP for one of our clients claims. That`s right BP appealed a Settlement Claim that was originally approved by the Settlement Fund. Needles to say our client was not happy, and nor were we.
We went through the process on the behalf of the client, it was arduous, but in the end we prevailed. I am very proud of our Team and the efforts they made on behalf of this client.
It looks as though BP has begun to employ this strategy more often, if you need help with an Appeal, please let us know.
Banner Week for Getting BP Settlement Claims Paid.
Last week was a big week for getting claims paid for us, we had over 15 BP Claims paid. This has been a long time coming, but well worth the wait. The claims ranged from Business Claims in the Keys to VOO Claims in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi; they came in from a few months to a few weeks ago. It seems the people that are running the DeepWater Horizon Settlement are getting into a higher gear.
Attorneys are gearing up for OPA Presentment
We are hearing that many attorneys are not taking any new claims in at this time because they are devoting their assets/people to OPA presentment. Claims that are being presented to OPA, (opt out claims and excluded claims), must be presented by January 20th, 2013.
This basically means it is crunch time for the firms that have caseloads of OPA claims that need to be re-presented and recalculated. If you have a claim that meets this criteria they need to be addressed sooner then later.
Old GCCF Claims
What many people do not realize, is that claims under the old GCCF need to be updated to fit into the Settlement. If you have a claim that has yet to be updated we will see what we can do to help you. There are hundreds of thousands of claims that still need to be updated.
BP Business Claims
Under the terms of the BP Settlement many Businesses that did not know they qualified under the old GCCF rules, do qualify under the DeepWater Horizon Settlement. If you think your Business may qualify under the terms of the new settlement, or just have a few questions, please call 1-800-BP-CLAIM.
We have had many business owners send us their P n L`s to see if they qualify, we have no problem checking first to see if your business qualifies before submitting to the Fund.
DeepWater Horizon Settlement Network
We can Help you with your DeepWater Horizon Settlement Claims starting at just 15%. Attorneys within the network charge from 20-25% to help you with you DeepWater Horizon Settlement Claims. If you have claims that are incomplete or need assistance or are going through the appeals process, members of our network charge as little as 10% to help you get your Claims through. We realize that different clients have different levels of need, and we will adjust our rates accordingly.
BP Property Claims and VOO Claims get first look
The DeepWater Horizon Settlement Fund has certainly made a priority of paying VOO Claims and property Claims first. With over 3,300 Notices sent out, over 3,150 are either for BP Property Claims or for VOO Charter Payment.
VOO Charter payment accounted for over 2,500 Eligibility Notices for Payment. We told you VOO Claims would be the first to get paid months ago. We have gotten VOO Claims processed and paid in under a week.
BP Claims Status Report
On September 5th the Claim Administrator Pat Juneau , made available a report on the progress and the status of the claims review process. There are serious issues that they are encountering, they are trying to develop workarounds to these issues.
BP did not seem to be amendable regarding some of the workarounds. Shortly after the report the Department of Justice came out with a statement that they would be pursuing Gross Negligence charges against BP. A few days after that The Settlement Fund came out with a notice that some document requirements would be relaxed. Hopefully BP got the message, and this will allow for more claims to be paid, and faster processing.
According to the Report many claims did not have sufficient documentation.
- 40% are missing one or more required documents
- 52% of Represented and pro se Claimants Claims were incomplete
- 48% of the claimants had claims with the GCCF that were incomplete
- 8,100 claims have been reviewed since mid-July
The numbers of Business Claims, Seafood Compensation Claims, and Individual Loss economic claims that have received an eligibility notice for payment is tragically low. This will hopefully change as the documentation guidelines have been relaxed. They needed to be.
This what we have seen through our network, VOO Claims are getting paid, many of the VOO Claims we have gotten paid had already taken Quick Pays.
Many of our larger Business Claims and those in our Network, have Claims that have gone under review. Several firms in the Network have received offers for their Business Claims, most of these offers were accepted and considered to be fair.
BP Settlement Fund has much to Do
The report went on to say that The Settlement is trying to get out letters of determination to over 30% of the Claimants by October 1. We had been told they were attempting to do this by September 10th.
We have been recently told they will be sending out letters of determination to over 3,000 by the end of the week, with approximately 1/3 of them receiving offers, in essence by October 1, over 15,000 people should know exactly where they stand.
Time is running out for the BP Settlement, I do believe the people in leadership positions have the best intentions. I also believe that they are running head long into obstructions that have been there since the GCCF, and if these obstructions are not removed very shortly the settlement may not survive.
If BP does not play ball and actually try to move the process forward, instead of hiding behind their lawyers and legal wrangling, there will be serious ramifications, whether it is through a Massive Boycott, the D.O.J, or some other mechanism. I guarantee to you, it won`t be pretty.
The BP Oil Spill was their fault not Ours. We need to hold them accountable, and We will.
Issues that need to be Addressed
Some real areas of concern right now are revolving around the environment, Oysters in Apalachicola and the surrounding areas are not spawning. We all know that Corexit is to blame, I was told BP was trying to blame it on past storms. My suggestion to BP is to take FULL responsibility for ALL of the Environmental after shocks of this Disaster.
Medical issues are continuing to worsen for many. People that were on the front lines are dying from very aggressive cancers. The National Institute of Health that has been taking samples for months, are sending out very vague letters staying very clear of linking the Oil Spill or the use of Corexit to these peoples health issues. People are dying here, we need real answers, not rhetoric.
Quick Pays, one thing I have learned form many of the people that make a living from the Gulf is that many of you have have issues reading, and many of you took Quick Pays. There is not one doubt in my mind that you were preyed upon, this issue needs to be fixed, and fixed now. With all of the issues the fisheries are having and the catches dwindling as they have, people are getting very desperate out there, and something needs to be done for them.
We will Help You
We remain committed more then ever to helping you through this process and are forging ahead with a number of entities of helping you get through this Disaster. As the process evolves so will our Strategies.
We have recently formed a relationship with a consortium of committed Oil Spill Attorneys that have a long history fighting for your rights. They specialize in BP Denied Settlement Claims, and the majority of other claims covered by the settlement, and those that are not. They are also not afraid to litigate you BP Claims.
We have also forged a relationship with an Adjuster and Accounting firm, one of the largest in the country, that specializes in BP Business Claims. They have over 300 full time CPA`s, and have retained some of the most knowledgeable people in this process.
Attorneys traditionally charge 25%
Non Attorneys charge 15%
We will Help you with your BP Claims and Beyond.
We are getting BP Claims Paid
An offer was received on August 27th, the claimant accepted the offer.
The Claimant was notified that all of his economic claims would then be handled under the terms of the DeepWater Horizon Settlement and agreed to that. The claim was handled for a 15% contingency fee.
There were several other BP Claims paid by our groups, they included Business Claims and more VOO Claims.
BP Settlement Calculations Dead On
The processing center that handles the majority of our large loss claims figured a BP Claim for approximately $359,540.00 the offer was for $359,410.00 they were off by $130.00.
We are thrilled with the accuracy of their calculations, this group also only charges 15% and only gets paid when the client gets paid.
Franklin County and Apalachicola Oystermen need Help
The more I have been hearing from Oystermen in Apalachicola, the more concerned I am for their future welfare.
It seems as though there is no new growth on the Winter Bars where they harvest Oysters.
The September 1 Oyster Season is right around the corner, Franklin County Commissioners are looking for help from BP and the EPA immediately.
The dispersant Corexit is most likely to blame, it has also caused a spike in Heart Attacks and Strokes in the Oystermen and Women`s communities.
This needs to be addressed immediately, members of the National Institute of Health have been taking hair and nail samples for months, enough sampling already, get these folks and others help now, people need to be made aware of the effects of Corexit.
Hurricane Isaac Stirs up the Gulf and Bays
Hurricane Isaac has pummeled Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi, Oil from the BP Spill will be hitting the shores of Our Beaches. Submerged Oil Mats known as SOM`s will be breaking apart and relocating. These mats still consist of 17% crude oil.
If you see Oil on the Beaches or in the Bays we want to hear about it, and take pictures if you can.
We have spoken to many of you in the last day, we are sorry for your losses and our prayers are with you
October 1 Opt Out Date Extended to November 1
We have been advocating for an Opt Out date extension for sometime now we are glad to see it got done. This will give the Attorneys more time to see how their clients fit into the settlement. The DeepWater Horizon Settlement Fund should be able to provide a large amount of offers on claims submitted to provide a sample set, of what we can all expect in the mean time. This will help us all evaluate BP Claims and get a feel for what will fit into the BP Settlement and what will not, and that is about to happen.
Free BP Claims Evaluation
None of the Groups that we work with charge to evaluate your BP claims, there are no upfront charges, there are no extra costs in any way. They don`t get paid until you do. Our CPA and Adjuster groups charge 15%.
Attorneys traditionally charge 25%.
We will Help you with your BP Settlement.

A 5 Million Dollar Fund is being Set Up for Women being Discriminated against by BP
If you are a woman and attempted to get hired by BP for the VOO program or to work on the Beach Clean Up and did not get a job, there is a good chance you may qualify to receive some money from this new fund. The Groups that we work with want to hear from you. This is a separate fund from the BP Settlement.
The BP Settlement: VOO Cases seem to be getting Paid first
Over the last few days the BP Settlement Fund under the Court Supervised Program has begun making offers to claimants. It seems as though the VOO cases are being paid first. From what we have heard VOO claims are getting paid because they are less substantial then many other claims. There were over 7000 Boats involved with the VOO program. If you were involved with the VOO program we can assist you in getting the money you deserve from BP.
BP Settlement Claims we can Help you With.
- Business Claims
- Denied BP Claims and Claims that are Stalled
- Medical Claims
- Property Claims
- VOO Claims
- Seafood Compensation Claims
- Individual Economic Loss Claims
How We Work and How we got into This
This all started when we launched our first website that assisted people getting Help from Catholic Charities. Then a number of beach workers started going to the sites and asking for help. People were actually dying.
We met with some Attorneys and other Activists and became actively engaged in getting people the help they needed and increasing the awareness of the situation. As time went by the Attorneys told us to follow the BP Claims process.
We then launched BPClaims.org. Under Feinberg the BP Claims process was awful, people were basically preyed upon with Quick Pays, and there was no congruency with the GCCF system. That leads us to today, we are hoping that the new DeepWater Horizon Settlement Fund actually lives up to the billing and pays people. The Good News is we are seeing some movement in that direction.
We have a fantastic staff here at BPClaims.org that specializes in putting together BP Claims. We are one of the best groups in the business of assembling BP Claims. If we feel we need to send the Claim over to another group we will notify the Claimant.
Some Claims need the help of an Attorney that specializes in that particular type of claim, while other claims maybe so complex that they maybe better served with one of our top tier CPA firms. The idea here is to get your claim into the best possible hands, so you can get what you deserve from BP. It has been a highly successful strategy.
We are not bound to one particular Law Firm, CPA group, or Claims Adjuster. We help assemble your claim and the get it into the Best possible hands.
If you want to speak directly to an Attorney we work with go to DeepWaterHorizonSettlementClaims.com
If you would like to discuss your Claim further with Us please fill out the form to the Right.
Fees range from 15%-25%.

DeepWater Horizon Settlement Overview
It has been a week since the DeepWater Horizon Settlement has officially begun. What can we say except we told you this was going to be a mess, and it is.
There are over Forty different claims forms, many of you have multiple claims, and are finding the mountain of data needed overwhelming.
Not to worry, we have been hard at work, in an effort to make this easier for you.
We have created Alliances with different Law Firms, Adjusters and Properly Staffed Consultant Groups all with different areas of expertise.
The DeepWater Horizon Settlement should be handled by professionals that have a very high degree of competency with DeepWater Horizon Settlement Claims.
They Specialize in:
- Business Claims
- Denied BP Claims and Claims that are Stalled
- Medical Claims
- Property Claims
- VOO Claims
- Seafood Compensation Claims
- Individual Economic Loss Claims
We will be helping them put together the paperwork and documentation for your DeepWater Horizon Settlement Claims. Most of you will have one point of initial contact to assemble your Claim, and that will be the team at BPClaims.org, we are available from 9-5 p.m. everyday.
Our staff has extensive knowledge of assembling BP Claims. Team members charge from 7.5% for large loss claims to 33.3% for Medical Claims that include a medical screening. Most economic claims run between 15-20%.
DeepWater Horizon Settlement Pyramid
The DeepWater Horizon Settlement is just another mechanism to glean out valid BP Claims and get them paid. Think about the BP claims process like a Pyramid.
This is how the BP Claims Pyramid Works, we know this because it is based on a model that Insurance companies have used for years.
- They will first get the people that are most desperate to cash out first, here they used Quick Pays over 200,000 people and Businesses took these.
- They will work up the Pyramid and take out the people and Businesses that have solid claims but are ready to settle hence the DeepWater Horizon Settlement Program, most of these will be small to midsize claims.
- Expect a new mechanism here that has yet to be identified, that will take out the larger claims.
- Finally some claims will move into the Litigation phase but most will be settled before they reach court.
This is how Settlements like this have moved forward for years don`t expect the Deepwater Horizon Settlement to be much different. Those who can hang in there the longest will reap the largest rewards.
DeepWater Horizon Settlement News
Lets remember they are just getting this ramped up, but the overall consensus is that this settlement will not last. There will be too many people opting out, too many law firms not opting their case loads in, and if you follow the pyramid example, the DeepWater Horizon Settlement is just one more mechanism to get claims settled.
The big question is will they settle out the larger claims, if they do, the DeepWater Horizon Settlement has a chance of making it, if they wait these claims out, to when the deadlines come up, it will most likely fail.
As it stands now, we advocate that you at least have all of your Claims well documented, and if you have not filed a claim, consider running it through the BP Claims Program that also just opened up. Yes there are now 2 separate funds to get compensated from. There is the DeepWater Horizon Settlement Fund and The BP Claims Program run by BP.
We can Help you with the New BP Claims Program and the DeepWater Horizon Settlement.
BP Settlement News from the Gulf: Shrimpers Stories
BP Settlement News from the Bayou. We have been hearing recently from shrimpers that are coming back in from the Gulf of Mexico and the Bays about the Health of the Gulf, the news is not good. Shrimp catches are down, way down. They are picking oil up in their nets more often then not. The shrimp and killfish they are finding in their nets have lesions, they are missing eye sockets, and they have a myriad of other issues.
The FDA says it`s fine to eat, we all know better. We have been told by numerous sources they just raised the testing levels of what is acceptable. The Shrimpers themselves have never seen anything like this in generations.
They are being forced to shrimp because many had taken Quick Pays, and it is the only hope of putting food on the table this year. The collapse of the Northern Gulf `s Seafood Industry can not be denied. If the BP Settlement does not address these issues, they in essence are forcing people to fish and exposing all of us to these deadly catches.
BP Settlement Quick Pays can still file Claims for VOO and Medical
If you took a Quick Pay or a final, you can still be a part of the VOO Settlement Class and the Medical Settlement Class under the BP Settlement. Many of you are sick but are attributing the High Blood Pressure to Stress and other factors. If you worked in the water or around the water during the Spring, Summer and Fall of 2010, odds are you are sick from the dispersant corexit and the oil.
There are tests that can help show this, one is called a Volatile Organic Compound Test, it measures the heavy metals in your body. If you are a fishermen, shrimper, crabber, and especially oystermen and clammer`s you need to go see a doctor.
We are hearing far to often of strokes and heart attacks, and are seeing a trend that is alarming. Many of you have not connected dots here. The BP Settlement can help you monetarily speaking, but you need to take the initiative when it comes to your health. The National Institute of Health is in the region taking hair, nail clippings and blood samples, they wouldn`t be there if it wasn`t serious.
The BP Settlement can only address so much, but the door is open if you took a Quick Pay to be a part of the BP Settlement for Medical and VOO Claims.
The BP Settlement and some random Thoughts
If the Northern Gulf goes into a full collapse, and experts are getting increasingly concerned about this, what do you think will happen to all the tourism. Owners of tourism and other related businesses please take note here. This will affect us all.
If the BP Settlement is to be fully utilized there needs to be some changes. First and foremost Quick Pays need to be addressed as soon as possible. You can not ask a man or a woman not to put food on the table for their families, if given the option of catching some tainted seafood, or their families starving, the choice is quite easy.
The BP Settlement needs to be proactive in its approach to paying people, especially paying those on the front lines. The BP Settlement should recognize the businesses that exist because of the Fishermen, Crabbers, Shrimpers and Oystermen, seafood processors and other assorted upstream businesses should receive higher multipliers if they choose to be a part of the BP Settlement.
BP Settlement and Multiple Claims
Many of you are entitled to multiple claims under the BP Settlement. Lets take for example a Fishermen that worked on the VOO Program who lives on the water.
If you have not taken a Quick Pay or a Final, you may be entitled to the following.
- Economic Claims
- VOO Claim
- Medical Claim
- Loss of Enjoyment Claim
- Subsistence Claim
We will Help you with your BP Settlement and we will Help you if you choose not to settle, we have Licensed Claims Adjusters, and Attorneys that can and will help you. Their rates start at 7.5% for large loss claims over 1 million dollars. The standard rate is usually 15%.
We will Assist you with your BP Settlement and Beyond.
BP Settlement VOO Claims Overview
This is conjecture until the Settlement is announced, but educated conjecture.
The meeting will be to hear objections, hear the applicable laws applied to the Settlement Agreement, then, hopefully, make FINAL modifications. We will keep you posted to the details.
As for BP Settlement VOO Claims, there are a few things you should know now. You should know who qualifies and the methods to calculate your awards for BP Settlement VOO claims.
BP Settlement VOO Claims Class
The class created for BP Settlement VOO claims will include the owners of the vessels used in the VOO program, the boat captains and crew members of those vessels and the ones who were contracted to start working, but did not work.
In other words, to make a BP Settlement VOO claim, you had to have a signed the Vessels of Opportunity Charter Agreement. In addition to the VOO Agreement, you must have the VOO training, IN ADDITION TO the Agreement, in order to qualify for payment. If you were a deckhand on a VOO vessel, you need pay stubs or employer letters that verified you as an employee on board the VOO vessel.
If you meet the above criteria for the BP Settlement VOO claims, you will be able to be compensated based on the amount you worked. BP Settlement VOO claims will be awarded a percentage.
The more a VOO operator worked, the less that operator will get paid. BP Settlement VOO claims made up of a VOO operator, or deckhand, who was put on the waiting list, will be able to receive an award equal to market charter rates for a set number of days.
BP Settlement VOO claims made up of a VOO operator that worked in the program, will be able to get an award for the same market charter rate, but for less days, because they actually worked. The word is if you were out on VOO and worked 1 day you will get paid for 26 days but, we are still waiting to hear exactly what the BP Settlement mandates.
BP Settlement VOO Claims and Multiple Claims
Keep in mind, that BP Settlement VOO claims will be made up of a large grouping of commercial fishermen and crabbers. If you happen to be a class member in the BP Settlement VOO claims, you may also file for a BP Settlement economic loss claims.
You will most likely be able to qualify for a separate payment, if you relied upon the fishing industry. You will also be likely eligible for the BP Medical Settlement as many people on the VOO got sick from the Oil and Dispersant.
We can help you, our Adjusters charge 15% to build your files and present it to the BP Settlement Center. If you are sick an Attorney will at some point take over the file to sue BP.
We will help you with your BP Settlement VOO Claims.
